Description

Strawberry Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert, replacing the traditional coffee and cocoa with sweet strawberries and citrus. This dessert is perfect for warm summer days, with its creamy mascarpone layers and fresh fruit flavors that delight in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau)
  • 1 Tbsp orange juice
  • 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup strawberry preserves (or strawberry jam)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1⅓ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 16 oz. mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • ½ Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 24 crispy ladyfingers (savoiardi)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Stir well and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Use a food processor or blender to blend half of the strawberry mixture along with the strawberry preserves until smooth.
  3. Transfer the strawberry puree back into the bowl with the remaining sliced strawberries and stir to combine. Set aside.
  4. In another bowl, beat sugar and egg yolks together for 4–5 minutes until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Then, fold in the mascarpone, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
  6. Carefully fold the mascarpone mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
  7. Spread a thin layer of the strawberry puree at the bottom of an 8”x8” baking pan.
  8. Lay the ladyfingers on top of the puree, soaking them in the mixture. Then, layer with mascarpone mixture.
  9. Repeat layers of strawberry puree, ladyfingers, and mascarpone until all ingredients are used.
  10. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
  11. Before serving, garnish with fresh sliced strawberries on top of the tiramisu.

Notes

  • Ensure to use dry ladyfingers (savoiardi), as they absorb liquid better than soft ones.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace the orange liqueur with extra orange juice.
  • This dessert is best prepared a day in advance to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of orange zest for a stronger citrus flavor.
