Description
Creamy Strawberry Chocolate Chip Overnight Oats made with rolled oats, fresh strawberries, yogurt, chia seeds, and chocolate chips for an easy make-ahead breakfast that is healthy, satisfying, and perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon extra strawberries for topping (optional)
- 1 teaspoon extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and dice the strawberries into small bite-sized pieces for even flavor distribution.
- Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, and pinch of salt to a mason jar or airtight container.
- Pour in the milk and Greek yogurt, then stir thoroughly to combine and evenly coat the oats.
- Add the vanilla extract and maple syrup or honey if using, and mix well.
- Fold in the diced strawberries and mini chocolate chips, reserving a few for garnish if desired.
- Stir everything together until fully combined and creamy.
- Cover the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow the oats to soften and flavors to blend.
- In the morning, stir the oats and add a splash of milk if a thinner consistency is preferred.
- Top with extra strawberries and chocolate chips before serving if desired.
- Serve chilled or gently warm for 20–30 seconds in the microwave if preferred.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
- Rolled oats work best for a creamy texture; avoid instant oats for better consistency.
- Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly throughout the oats.
- Add a splash of milk before serving if the oats become too thick after refrigeration.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a dairy-free option, substitute plant-based yogurt and milk.
- Frozen strawberries may be used if fresh berries are unavailable.
